The Appita Jasper Mardon Memorial Prize honours the late Dr Jasper Mardon who made many significant contributions to the development of papermaking and who was a firm supporter of the Australian and New Zealand paper industry, promoting research and training seminars to develop and provide growth opportunities.

The Prize is awarded annually for the best papermaking paper presented at the Appita Annual Conference. It is not intended to be a “lifetime achievement” or “service to the industry” award but is for a specific technology of papermaking. The Prize is in the form of a plaque presented to each author of the winning paper.

The Jasper Mardon Memorial Prize is also awarded by our sister associations, PAPTAC (Canada), TAPPI (USA) and PITA (UK)
